Factory or trading company?

A business license states the approved operating scope. "Trade" means middleman — they buy from a real factory and add a margin. You lose price leverage and quality control visibility.

What does the quote actually include?

FOB means the factory's responsibility ends at the Chinese port. Freight, duty, brokerage, VAT — none of that is in the FOB quote. A competitive price at FOB looks very different at landed cost.
